Technical Presentations

We just finished our technical presentation. The interns worked in small groups to create a presentation on equipment specific to what we use here in our ICU's. They all did a great job. The topics they presented were: bladder pressure monitoring, arterial lines, continuous cardiac output machines, swan ganz catheters, burn dressings and ointments, and the hypothermia protocol. The interns are starting their 3rd rotation and are in the Cardiac section of the Basic ICU class. Half way through and they are all doing great!

AirMed Tour

AirMED- John Cooper, AirMed's Chief Flight Nurse took us on a tour of the facility. The University hospital provides services for one of the largest geographic areas of the United States, routinely receiving patients from Utah, Wyoming, Montana, Idaho and Nevada. AirMed provides air medical transport for the majority of these referral patients. This keeps our ICU's very busy. Most of the nurses on the AirMed team worked here in one of our ICU's.
